Charity Scouts
Six months of emergency flood response for 2,400+ families across northern Sindh.

What Charity Scouts is about
When the 2022 monsoon floods submerged villages across Sindh, CYDE’s young volunteers launched Charity Scouts, our flagship disaster relief programme, together with Shangmu Volunteers. For six months we moved from immediate rescue to transitional shelter and sanitation, prioritising women, girls, elders, persons with disabilities and riverine Katcha families.
What we do
- Cash assistance so displaced families could meet urgent household needs
- Emergency shelter: tents for families whose homes were submerged or destroyed
- Food security: essential rations and emergency nutrition supplies
- Clean drinking water for flood-stranded settlements at risk of waterborne disease
- Sanitation and hygiene support to prevent outbreaks in camps and villages

What came next: Once survival needs were met, field assessments showed families needed income, not endless rations. That led to Khudkafeel and Climate Muhafiz in 2023.
